Position Summary

Reporting to the US Director of Operations, the Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading a team of direct and indirect reports of Assemblers and Technicians in the electromechanical manufacturing of Laboratory Equipment. The Manufacturing Manager directly supervises one production manager, and lead operators. The Manufacturing Manager works directly with the Quality Manager, the Supply Chain manager, Manufacturing Engineering and HR generalist to deliver key performance indicators in safety, quality, cost and efficiency.

Safety
Responsible for the safety and leadership of all personnel across manufacturing team by ensuring a safe work environment through the immediate resolution of any safety issue.
In partnership with Manufacturing Engineering ensure the quality of the manufacturing process.
In conjunction with Production Planning ensures Master Build Plan is executed to ensure OTD goals
Responsible for implementing and sustaining Manufacturing Metrics to ensure linear production execution and quality goals are maintained or exceeded
In conjunction with Quality Assurance adheres to customer quality specifications, ISO9001 standards, and GMP's.
Solves operational issues using problem solving skills (containment and permanent corrective actions).
Plans, manages, and controls manufacturing operations.
Recommends manufacturing methods, equipment, and layout to ensure productivity and minimal downtime.
Performs analysis of labor efficiencies and proper labor allocation to meet demand.
Monitors personnel equipment utilization, scheduling, and material flow.
Ensures Material Inventory Accuracy in coordination with Supply Chain Manager.
Maintains operational and personnel policies and procedures.
Ensure that the equipment and tooling is up to date and in good working condition.
Develops and oversees maintenance - corrective, preventive maintenance process.
Oversee the Training and evaluation of assemblers and technicians through training matrix and associated documentation
Recommends and develops capital equipment projects to add capacity in this area or improve the operation.

Drives Lean initiatives & participate on cross functional project teams to develop a continuous improvement culture.
Interfaces regularly with HR, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, and Finance.

Requirements

Position Requirements
Minimum of 7 to 10 years' experience in a manufacturing supervisory/leadership role preferably within an Electromechanical Instrument manufacturing environment.
Experience with injection molding, and/or CNC machining desirable
Demonstrated track record of improving operations by using Lean, Continuous Improvement or 6-Sigma tools and methods.
Multi-lingual a plus - English/Chinese
BS degree in a management discipline or Engineering discipline such Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial desired

Education:
BS degree in a management discipline or Engineering discipline such Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial desired

Experience:
Electromechanical Instrument Manufacturing: 3 years (Required)
Supervising direct and indirect reports experience: 5 years (Required)
