Human Resources at the Masons of California: In HR, we help shape the organization by championing our commitment to our employees so that they can make the world a better place. Managers make people decisions, but HR is the steward for people processes, the information managers use, and the quality of the overall processes and goals. When people's decisions and procedures do not deliver the proper outcomes, it is up to the HRBP to improve them by understanding HR, the business, the market, and relationships. Our team focuses on using human resources to help our assigned business units and departments succeed. We advise, help and support managers on strategic issues. We fully understand short- and long-term strategic goals for the business and interpret the role that HR can play in helping achieve these outcomes to drive value for the company. The HRBP in Covina will be the sole HR layered, vectored, stakeholders. What's in it for you:

  • You own and deliver all HR services to internal clients, focusing on the Covina Masonic Home Campus, Masonic Outreach Services, and the Masonic Center for Youth and Families.
  • Partner closely with the executive team and managers to drive workforce-related efforts, implement high-performing, integrated human resources practices: hiring; performance management, employee relations, and risk; retention and engagement; compensation and benefits; and development.
  • Help management drive HR plans, advise on critical talent decisions and achieve operational excellence.
  • Be a trusted advisor on all HR issues and be a true partner in hiring, developing, and retaining the best talent. What you'll do:Hiring: Manage recruiting and the hiring process with the Recruiting Programs Manager to help managers achieve the best results:
    • Identify and hire new and existing roles to enable the business to meet its goals.
      • Partner with the Recruiting Programs Manager to train managers on the hiring process to achieve clarity on needs of the job and highlight the strengths of the organization, to make quality hires, and to deliver a great candidate experience
      • Maintain and exceed key performance indicators for time-to-fill, quality candidate flow for job openings, candidate experience, and hire quality. Engagement, Performance Management, Employee Relations, and Risk: Guide and coach managers as they manage their teams.
        • Support managers in the planning and execution of retention, engagement, evaluation and compensation. Ensure our organization stays competitive in a rapidly changing market for talent.
        • Uncover and diagnose issues through use of surveys, manager and staff conversations, exit interviews, and other data, such as pay and market benchmarking.
        • Provide advice and support managers on effectively managing their teams regarding employee relations issues, complaint resolution, discipline, leaves of absence, and workers' compensation. Manage the leaves and workers compensation cases for your groups.
        • Provide risk assessment and guidance for risk reduction through workplace investigations, handling employee complaints, grievances, and disputes as needed.
        • Mitigate risk ensuring compliance with relevant federal and state employment laws and regularly partnering with other HR colleagues and legal.
        • Maintain and exceed key performance indicators for turnover and engagement survey scores. Training and Development:Coach managers to better lead their business, develop their people and drive business results
          • Create and deliver pieces of training in all HR functional areas.
          • Refer training from our online learning systems to managers and employees.
          • Provide coaching to managers and staff on the day-to-day work on all areas of HR. You'll need to have:
            • 7+ years of Human Resources experience in Human Resources, including some Generalist or business partner experience; prefer experience in a, not for profit, health care or senior care environment or other highly state-regulated, licensed enterprise
            • Requires a BA/BS in HR, Business, and relevant work experience may substitute for the required education. HR certification a plus.
            • Grit and patience
            • Demonstrated experience serving in a consultative capacity to leaders and employees regarding business decisions and all HR functional areas.
            • Established expertise building consensus on a cross-functional basis
            • Ability to use HR reporting & analytics to generate insights and present findings back to the business, as well as tracking and disseminate critical HR data
              • Implement and contribute to HR initiatives that make the organization more effective, such as talent acquisition, retention strategies, and employee development
                • Partner with Shared Services teams, including Payroll, IT, and Finance to ensure optimal service delivery to the organization is achieved based on need
                • Knowledge of Workers Compensation process, including reportable/recordable injuries and OSHA log requirements
                • Strong PC skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook)
                • Skills and knowledge in project management
                • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and successfully. You'll need to have:
                  • 7+ years of Human Resources experience in Human Resources, including some Generalist or business partner experience; prefer experience in a, not for profit, health care or senior care environment or other highly state-regulated, licensed enterprise
                  • 2-3 years of sourcing, recruiting passive candidates, and pre-qualifying candidates for manager review
                  • Requires a BA/BS in HR, Business, and relevant work experience may substitute for the required education. HR certification is a plus.
