  • The Registered Nurse, as a professional practitioner, assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care.

    • Must be able to assess patient conditions, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, interpret cardiac rhythm strips, keep records and provide patients with support and education.

      • Emergency Department registered nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients of all age groups.
        • Additional Details
        • Performs, interprets and completes assessment/reassessment per policy, develops, implements and revises patient specific plan of care.
        • Demonstrates implementation and staff adherence to NPSGs as appropriate.
        • Completes documentation, objectively, accurately and timely.
        • Demonstrates ability to identify critical events/near misses and takes appropriate action.
        • Responsible for 80% review of all staff meeting information by attending staff meetings or reviewing staff meeting minutes.
