Prepares and produces nutritious, wellbalanced meals in accordance
with current applicable federal, state and local standards,
guidelines and regulations, established policies and procedures, to
assure that quality food service is provided at all times.
1. Works directly with Sous Chef, completing tasks assigned per
production sheets and/or verbal daily assignments.
- 2. Responsible for coordinating special events and guest meal
service. Required to routinely check Master Calendar for scheduled
guests, communicating with Chef and Department Director regarding
meal accommodations and assure that the department's level of
presentation is consistent. 3. Become familiar with computerized
file system for recipes. 4. Works as a relief cook and dietary aid
as needed. 5. Assure food production areas and equipment are in
good condition, properly sanitized and free of safety hazards. 6.
Provide assistance in the main dining room as needed. 7. Report all
accidents, unsafe/hazardous conditions immediately. 8. Maintain
CONFIDENTIALITY of pertinent resident care information to assure
their rights are protected. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS 9. Assist in
maintaining the adult dining room in an organized and sanitary
condition, i.e., pre-set tables, bus tables, etc. 10. Monitor adult
residents who miss scheduled meals and notify appropriate
personnel. 11. Assist with the storage of cleaning materials,
equipment, tableware and other supplies, used in the preparation of
food and service.
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE.
- Ability to read and write and communicate fluently
- Cooking experience in the hospitality field is
- Effective communication skills required.
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the
necessary knowledge and abilities listed, typically:
- Requires Serve Safe Certification
OBRA & TITLE 22 REQUIREMENTS
- Ensures that residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment,
self determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil
rights, including the right to wage a complaint, are well
established and maintained at all times.
- Maintains confidentiality of appropriate resident care
information to assure their rights are protected.
- Reports all incidents/accidents, unsafe and hazardous
conditions/equipment immediately. Follows established safety rules
and regulations. Maintains work area in a clean, orderly and safe
