Summary
The Community Development Liaison are responsible for developing
and maintaining relationships with NGO's, non-profits, and
communities in their region. This position will help Lantern
develop its community outreach strategy and ensure good
relationships with the various partners. The Community Development
Liaison will help grow Lantern's presence in Iran.Network Building,
Fundraising & Collaboration -
Partner with providers regarding the
content in Farsi for Lantern's Peer to Peer networkRepresent
Lantern with external partners (including, but not limited to
funders, NGOs, and grassroots community groups)Serve as an
organizational ambassador at conferences (some international) to
promote the organization and to increase Lantern user baseDrive
high-impact fundraising to achieve overall revenue goalsProvide
input into the development of a strategic plan for fundraising
plans, including revenue, budget, goals and timelinesHelp develop
and execute innovative strategic plan developed annually and
revised periodically to ensure team exceeds all revenue
goalsCurrent Events, Cross-Cultural Management & Social Media
Monitor media coverage of Iran and
communicate relevant information effectively to the entire team to
help foresee potential internet blocking events in IranCollect
newsworthy updates related to Lantern in Iran for press
releasesMonitor Lantern's Iran-specific social media/messenger
platforms and engage with users as neededProvide social media
manager with relevant social media content related to Iran and
translate for Farsi platformsTranslate English to Farsi text for
various platforms, including website, social media, blogs, and
other messagingUser Engagement for Product Development, Grant
Reporting & Customer Success
Help to identify test users
in-country and collect qualitative data through surveys and
outreachCollaborate with product and tech teams to inspire creative
solutions to reach more usersProvide anecdotal user feedback to
Customer Success, based on engagement with social media/Telegram
audiences, to help identify areas for improvement, expansion, and
growth in regions experiencing censorshipWork closely with the
grants team to assist with grant reporting requirementsRequired
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in international
studies, philanthropy, or a related field2-3 years of experience
working in the NGO/non-profit space, with a focus on IranExisting
network of Iranian civil society & human rights organizations, as
well as with independent mediaStrong project management skills,
with the ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced startup
environment, setting objectives, and prioritizing activities based
on impactIndependent, self-motivated, and proactive. You don't
require constant input, and you have meticulous attention to
detailExcellent communication, management, interpersonal
skillsCultural sensitivity and the ability to navigate complex
social and political environmentsHighly curious, you are always
wanting to know the "why" behind actionsAbility to transform data
into insightsYou are fluent in Farsi and English, and are an
