Job Title: Estimator Department: Estimating

Position Type: Full Time Reports to: Chief Estimator

Primary Purpose: This position estimates projects from take-offs to bid closing in accordance with company policy and procedure.

Description Of Duties And Tasks

• Review bid documents, addendums, proposals, specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents
• Performs quantity take-off including pricing, labor, materials, equipment cost breakdown
• Procure subcontractors, suppliers, special equipment, MFG
• Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals and scope qualifications
• Site visits for due diligence and inspect site
• Coordinate bid documentation, GFE, DBE's, delivery and closure with Bid Coordinator
• Responsible for proper listing of subcontractors
• Work with Chief Estimator during bid closing
• Prepare budgets for captured projects
• Final analysis and negotiation of Vendors and Subcontractors
• Prepare complete Bid Book to project manager
• Retain original bid set of plans for jobs until completion
• Interface with General Superintendent, Project Management, and VP Operations
• Other duties as required
  
  Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  
  Demonstrated ability to use computer programs: Word, Excel, HCSS or similar estimating program. P6 or similar scheduling program
  
  Knowledge of construction, construction practices, and standards
  
  Knowledge of Federal and State laws and codes regulating Public Works Bidding
  
  Strong verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
